After the birth of her first child, she shifted her career in social services/health care to embrace a calling to support families through their birth and parenthood journey.

Emily is a birth and reproductive health advocate, believing that birth is a rite of passage in a birthing person’s life story and that ALL families deserve to feel supported through their own unique passage by having a doula present for their birth.  Emily is active in the birth community working to address maternal-child health care disparities that exist for people of color and other marginalized groups of people. As a doula and childbirth educator, she wants every family to have information that will help them feel confident making the best care choices for themselves and their infant. She believes it is a deep honor and privilege to be able to support birthing people and partners on their journey.

Emily maintains a private doula business and is also the Director of Programs for the non-profit Mama to Mama, where she teaches childbirth education classes, facilitates new moms groups and manages a volunteer doula program for under-resourced families.
Emily has experience supporting people who struggle with emotional wellness, substance abuse, homelessness, sexual assault/intimate partner violence, and perinatal mood disorders.  Moreover, she is trained as a young adult sexuality education facilitator (Our Whole Lives) and has additional training to support Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC). Emily also loves connecting with and supporting LGBTQ+ families.

Emily is a full spectrum doula, who supports all aspects of pregnancy and the reproductive health cycle.  She welcomes ALL birth plans.
